Hi Everyone,

i'm after a bit of advice, I've been looking to get a Naim Muso for the past few months, I'm about to take the plunge, but with the new Zeppelin released which is getting great reviews. My question is which is the better speaker? If the Muso is better is it £400 better.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regard,

Mike

You should have no trouble hearing both together. Audio-T do both, Apple sells both, John Lewis sell both.

The new Zeppelin is good - mega powerful. Muso I couldn't get to use right, the volume wouldn't go up much, will try and have another listen tomorrow.

Thanks for this, I'm swaying towards the new Zeppelin, I guess the Muso is probably better overall but not compared to it being more or less double the price. I've just sold my Chord Hugo, I could get the Mojo with the change.

Zeppelins are very good, really powerful, really clear and in my view kick well above their weight. I love mine. They are good on all music too. Rock is brilliant and ballards sound great.

I think what I was meaning to put and then got a bit confused was classical music is good too. *smile*

It depends on your priorities, and ultimately the Muso will sound better simply because it has more power, and neither AirPlay nor Bluetooth will sound as good as more traditional streaming like lossless files from a nas drive. But if the former two form your main playback then I'd save the dough and get the Zeppelin. And to the other poster, or op, I'd hang on to the Hugo. Full-fat hifi is still the one to beat if music is your drug. Just been playing CDs and that's what my system craves until I get into streaming.

I managed to listen to both today and both sound great. At the same volume the Zeppelin has more power, but the Naim is no slouch and handled rock music really well, I very much liked it. Tough choice. I would probably go for the Zeppelin but if I had the money I wouldn't mind trying out the Naim for a while.

I think the Naim handled detail better but it was quiet but still really loud. I was booming out John Lewis with live Metallica music, I was using Bluetooth on both too.

Hi,

I had a listen to these both in John Lewis but couldn't really assertain in the crowded, noisy environment which sounded better so I went to a specialist HiFi shop and gave them a propper listen. It became evident very quickly that the Muso was the one for me!

The muso had a greater depth in texture and articulated the music detailing better than the Zeppelin. Don't get me wrong I think the Zeppelin sounds good as well but not quite in the same league. Having internet radio and the option to use it as a soundbar for my TV using the optical input sealed the deal for me!

Plus the muso looks like something Batman would own!!

Exactly what I found. It's why I almost bought one earlier this year. (Ended up with the somewhat more expensive system in my signature instead but it was close at one time.)

Thanks for the responses everyone,

I've ordered the Zeppelin, mainly i would say because it £400.00 cheaper than the Muso, it doesnt sound like there is a lot in anyway. I can then use the change i've got left to buy a Chord Mojo, did have the Hugo but sold it as i wasnt getting the use.

Thanks,

Mike
