I have a Nad c521bee cd player. Will the sound improve much if i use a digital optical cable to connect it to my CA Dacmagic?
I am currently using the Dacmagic to upgrade my sound from my Squeezebox Duet, and what a great job it is doing and wondered if i could achieve a similar improvement with a decent optical cable to the Dac?
Any tips?
All help appreciated, so thx in advanc

Why not try it since you have the dac and cd player. Might be better to try with a coaxial cable though.

I can't try it at the mo as i haven't bought an optical digital cable. I use a Toslink cable to connect the Dac to the Squeezebox.

Thanks for the reply btw.

Any recommendations as to which cable to buy would be appreciated.

try it with the cables you have now and see how it is. there is very little between the two.

I could not tell the difference between my NAD 542 (or452or whatever the number was) and when used with a dac Magic but I could tell the difference when the dac was used with my SB3.

The Nad cd player only has a digital coaxilal connection.

As i said i dont have one of these to try.

i probably wont bother buying one if i cant expect much improvement.

Cheers for replies

Buy a coaxial cable for £10 and try it.

Try also the coaxial cable on your Squeezebox ... it might just be better than the optical.

Nothing ventured nothing gained ... at least you will have a spare cable just in case.
