Can anyone tell me if its possible to connect an ipod directly to this DAC or whether i can only connect a computer - the input on the DAC is a UBS B port my IPOD lead is a standard USB port is it possible to just by a connector or different lead and let the DAC convert the information?

As Musical Fidelity's specs say, "1 USB 1.1 [32, 44.1, 48 kHz sample rates] connection for computer only"

So I think that's a no, then.

Is there any leads or connections to take the output from the ipod to a digital rca lead?

Only with a unit able to extract the digital output from the iPod, such as the Wadia 170iTransport.

So would i just have to buy one of those and plug that in to my DAC - any ideas of reatilers or price - just googled it but couldn't see any retailers

Thanks Andrew - found info for MDC but could only find one company in Guildford pricing it at £350 and mixed details re release date as Feb 2008 and then May 2008 - looks like a really interesting product will keep my eyes open for it -
