My neighbour had his MF A1 refettled at Unilet and it sounds brilliant into his PMC GB1i's.I would think the DB1i's would be a great match.Still fry an egg on it though!

The A1 is a Class "A" amp, so it will sound great, but as a result it's only 36w a channel.

The A5 will have more power at 150-250wpc (cant remmember which) but it will run class A/B. Its also an older design and wont sound as good.

Personally, if you have efficient speakers, and its going to be used in a second system I would consider the A1, as it will give you a completely different sound.

I use the A1 FBP Preamp with the 550k monoblocks, and the sound is clean with exceptional grip.
