Well, there you have it. For decorative compatability reasons (as the wife puts it) I'm downgrading my B&W spoeakers from 805/ASW850/HTM1 to MT1s and their lovely counterpart PV1 sub. I always had in mind to by a Pioner LX-82 and BD 52 Blu-Ray - but is the am overkill for the speakers. It puts out more power than they can handle etc.

Which amp would mate to these speakers nicely, give me quality HDMI upscaling and not be wasted cash ?

Regards, Greg.

Hi

I would say the 82 is definetely too much for these speakers and it costs £1850. That's way too much for these speakers.

The 72 would be a much better match but even that is 1500 and I would say that too is too much for these speakers.

The yamaha rxv3900 can be had for good prices or the old pioneer sc-lx71 is still about at some shops.

Have you seen the pioneer bdp-lx52?

I would suggest and demo you might change your mind on what blu ray player you want.

Hope this helps a bit.
