Im probably the minority here but i thought it was rubbish, didnt like it at all, the 1st hour was to slow (to the point were id lost interest) & by the time it speeded up i couldnt of cared less tbh.

The only positive i can say about it was that it "looked" good! Considering it was all shot using models etc it looked great & so was the eary soundtrack that accompanied it but other than that , nothing!!

I agree with you Jase. Besides the fact that the 'picture' looked good, the movie was rubbish.

A bore, for sure. The main character's acting was good though. I'd pick an old Star Trek or certainly any of the Star Wars (real sci-fi to me) movies anyday.

Just because something is sci-fi, does it have to have massive explosions, space-chases etc?

Yes, Moon is gentle, almost theatre-like in its presentation, but it's beautifully shot and acted (Sam Rockwell deserves an Oscar-nod, IMO), and I felt very thought-provoking.

I love a good action movie - set in space or not - but it's good to have a change of pace occasionally!

I too bought the Blu-Ray of Moon and absolutely loved it. I prefer a good intelligent sci-fi film like this any day instead of some overblown cgi rubbish like 2012.

Sam Rockwell reminded me very much of Scott Bakula to look at, as well as his delivery etc..and of course Scott's Quantum Leap character was called Sam.

Star trek is boderline between science fiction and science fantasy. Star Wars is pure Fantasy.

For real Sci Fi folks should check out Cube or Cypher (both by Vincenzo Natali) or A Scanner Darkly though if you don't like Moon then stick to the blockbusters.

My only concern is there's just not enough of it made...

I agree with Clare. Sam Rockwell deserves an oscar nomination at least he plays a blinder, specially when you realise the effort that went into the making and the acting out of his scenes.

Hmmmm.. I will have to check these out.

I might also be shot down for saying this but I love Solaris- not many sci-fi films comes close to being so atmospheric (the soundtrack is brilliant!!). Another one to watch is Sunshine (local lad Danny Boyle directing....and have you seen dark city? a oldish one but brilliant :)
