Monster Hdmi lead

i just purchased a monster precision 750hd lead to hook up my ps3 to my onkyo 606.

The problem I have i can not get any of the HD sound formats to work. I have tried DDtrue hd / dts HD 5.1 and master audio discs, but my reciever does not aknowlege the format

can any one tell me if the Gbps of 4.95 which the cable is , is restricting me to the normal surround sound formats.

There is another cable up from that which is 10.2Gbps

please help as i recieved my onkyo 606 today and unable to use it to it's full potential

Yes, it looks like the problem is your cable does not support the HDMI 1.3 standard (which runs at 10.2 Gbps) which is required to transmit HD audio signals like Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio. I would ensure the cable you get is 1.3 certified and this will ensure you can transmit these sound formats across it, as well as all the other features 1.3 certification brings you if your equipment supports it.
