Monitor RS6 AV set up or alternative?

Hi,

I'm new to this. I'm going to buy a new Home cinema set. I'm thinking of the Monitor RS6 AV combination. It has to be an allround setup, the time I listen to stereo music vs the time I watch movies is about 50/50. Is this a good set? Alternatives I consider: a Kef set with the IQ700 as floorstanding front speakers, a B&W theater set 684, Canton 507 set or a Mission M series set. What can you advise me? Any other good alternatives? When I pick the Monitor RS 6 combination, what AV receiver and what dvd/cd player fits with it? And a last question: should I buy a seperate/dedicated CD player? Thanks! oh and for your information: my room size is about 3.5 meters x 3.5 meters...

The RS6 might be a little big for that room size, in my opinion. I would go with smaller speakers and you could get a great set up for the cost of the RS6.

You may save a lot of money by buying B&W DM 602 S3. For a room that small you need something articulate, rather than pumping out loads of thud. Then again, its down to personal preferences.

Do consider B&W DM 684/685.
