I want to purchase another pair of rs-fx surrounds, in cherry wood to make my system7.1,

however i can only find a pair in rosenut, but i have found a pair of the grfx in light oak,

the light oak would be ok but will they blend in sound wise or will there be a big difference in sound matching,

any advice wellcome.

It is recommended by THX that rear speakers in a 7.1 system are direct firing

Dipole speakers for rear can be used but need to be reversed i.e. the one normally on the right hand side is positioned on the left and vica versa,

Bi-pole speakers are ok on the rear in the normal configuration.

As for your question on which model you should buy , and not withstanding any sonic difference which I am not qualified to comment on , my view is , as long as you feel you wont suffer from buyers regret between the rs/fx and the grfx go for it.

Thanks for that, i think if i was going to do a miss match i think i would prefure the better model,

im just worried the sound quality would be noticable, was hopeing somebody might have done the same, im all so having the same problem with the centre speaker choice, trying to get a rs-lcr in cherry wood,

want it to replace the kef IQ60c so as to match the rs8 ,s.and rs-fx.
