Anyone used it?

For 50 bucks it'll do most of what I need, as we'll probably end up with our VOIP service rpovider also providing Exchange service as well.

The full Windows Small Business Server packages cost 380 bucks for the "Basics" version and 780 bucks for the "Standard" version, so the "Home" version looks like far better value for money....

it really depends on what you want to use it for.

If you want to run a domain, then no, it's not really meant for that.

No domain, her webpage is hosted remotely and is little more than a one-pager at the moment, although I'll be working on that soon...

All I want to do is manage accounts, printers, and backups from one central location.

Just found out this product wipes your hard disk during the installation, fortunately NOT the hard way.

We've got an old Dell Vostro Pentium machine we could use, move the RAID card and hard disks into it and use it as the server. Hopefully it'll be so slow it will convince her to buy a proper microserver......😛ray:
