Micro system and speaker question

Hello Everybody,

I’m a new member but I’ve been reading on this forum for a while now.

I’m looking for a micro-system for the kitchen and I found an Onkyo CR-515 on discount.

Ofcourse I’m gonna need some speakers. The speakers are going te be mounted close to the wall and 3 metres apart.

My budget allows for the following speakers:

KEF iQ-1 €.198,-

Mission M30i €.158,-

Mission M31i €.198,-

Tannoy Mercury F1 €.198,-

Wharfedale Diamond 9.0 €.140,-

Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 €.176,-

These prices are for a pair of speakers. I’ve listed the prices so you can compare them to UK-prices.

The problem is that some of the speakers are only available through internet-shops and it’s impossible to audition them.

I’d like a systeem that resembles the sound of my main system, Denon and Monitor Audio. I don’t like sharp treble.

The Denon micro and Monitor Audio speakers are (far) above budget..

Hope you can advise me..

I imagine that a Denon/MA combo is quite bright (not harsh) and that the Tannoys or Wharfedales will actually sound pretty good with the Onk.
