I'm off to demo the Arcam Solo and Arcam Solo Mini tomorrow along with the M/A RX1's and RX2's.

I had started to look for a system for my study based round a Cyrus 6v2 integrated but decided that as I bought it at such a low price I'd sell it on and make a profit (which I did

I'll be taking along a fair wide range of music (Massive Attack/Vampire Weekend/Delphic/System of a Down/Bonzo Dog/Paolo Nutini) so will let you know how I got on tonmorrow

I'm going to demo with the B&W 685's as well but I already have thouse and cant be bothered carting them in haha...

Will have a nosey at the Spendor's they've got as well as the B&W CM5's but having already got B&W's I dont want another set.

I'm kinda set on the M/A's currently... Will see how it goes

Will be very interested to hear how you get on Dan. The MAs are on my 'interested' list for the future and it will be useful to get an informed opinion on how they sound.

the solo is far better than the mini, I own an arcam movie 5.1 and did buy the mini at launch and sold on very quickly its vgood for what it is but the solo sounds far better. i wouldn't be buying either now, i'd be waiting to see the neo and prices which sure someone can correct me but don't think announced yet

The NEO looks brilliant but it's not what I want currently.

I've been offered the Solo and Solo Mini at very good prices (b oth ex-dem but in mint condition). They're ideal for what I'm after so just want to see which sounds the better with which speakers!

On another note I got my old Atacama SE24 speaker stands out of the loft today; I've nitromorsed them and sanded them right back to bare metal and then buffed/sanded them till they were uber smooth!

They have been sprayed in 4 layers of Hammerite 'matt black' and are now drying off downstairs. They'll get another sanding tomorrow with 1200 grade paper but they look superb already!

Just need to nice gloss black speakers to sit on them... Oh, and some blu-tac

the mini to me just lacked a little control think prob down to the 25w amp - think you will have far more options with the solo in terms of speakers and if good ex dem offer could well be worth it - nice machine

both from memory a little noisy at spinning a disc you can hear it from across the room!

The only afternoon I've got free for nearly 3 weeks and I've ended up having to attend a meeting with a client based in the middle of no-where!

Really annoyed as was really hoping to get this tied up by the weekend; it'll have to wait now... Sniffle sniffle...
