There's a letter from a reader, Mix and Match, where they say that their next TV HAS to be Full HD because they are getting Sky HD. Why? Come on guys why not advise that it does not HAVE to be Full HD as 1080i is all you're gonna get from Sky. Plus on a 40" TV ! Otherwise keep up up the good work. R

Oh come on, our Product of the year TV is the HD Ready Pioneer!

This was a specific response to a specific query, where a reader had explicitly asked for a 40in set, and preferably a Sony! They mentioned the V, we know the W is better, so that's what we recommended.

huh? I know I've got a 428, my point was that there is no need to get Full HD to watch Sky HD.

Indeed there isn't - but if a reader wants a 40in Sony TV, the W is the best option. It just happens to be Full HD.

If there'd been more room in the magazine, we could have disabused the reader of the notion that Full HD is essential, but we chose to focus on finding them the best product for their specific need.
