Marantz PM6004 vs PM6005?

Hi Guys,

I was just wondering when looking from a purely analogue perspective if anyone had the chance to do a live demo or compare Marantz PM6004 to PM6005? How would you describe the difference in sound representation between the two if any? I find the PM6004 gives me a great overall sound image where everything seems to be where it should (i dont own one, just had it for test for a few days), whereas my Pioneer amp tends to bring highs a bit closer to the listener and push mids way back...

Just to point out a few things:

1. My speakers are irrelevant since I already heard the PM6004 with them, and I'm just looking to find out the difference I pointed above

2. I won't be using digital inputs since I will be feeding PM6004/6005 with analogue sound from my DAC

3. Is it worth spending another 100eur if I won't be using digital inputs, is sound that better?

Trying to figure out if I should go the PM6004 way or opt for PM6005 for Christmas

If you won't be using PM6005 DAC get 6004. I did compare 6004 & Arcam rDac to MCR510 and could not hear any difference so don't think you'll hear any between the two you've mentioned.

Figured as much. Also got a 50eur reduction on PM6004 so it willl definately be it in SG variant.
