Marantz PM4001 Versus PM6003

Hi I own a PM4001 . Am thinking of replacing it with the new PM6003.

Does anyone has experience with both models . Is the sound quality of the PM6003 much better than the PM4001

Yes. I don't rate the PM4001 at all - flat, gutless and uninspiring sounding. The PM6003 is a much better amplifier all round with much more presence to its sound.

At 6003 money there are plenty of different choices though, so it would be well worth taking some music and your speakers to a dealer so that you can listen to a couple of different options.

What music do you listen to and what do you want to improve about your current set-up?

The PM6003 is MUCH better than the PM4001. Worth the extra money !

Currently I am using MS avant 902i speakers which I am partnering with the PM 4001 amp, i don't want to change my speakers.

I don't fancy the PM4001, so I am wondering if it is worthwhile to partner my speakers with the PM6003 instead, would I have a big improvement in sound. On a scale of 1 to 10 how big an improvement is the PM6003 over the PM4001. My other choices for amps are Rotel RA-04 and NAD C325BEE

I listen to all kinds of music, pop, classical etc.

The rotel or marantz would beat the pm4001 hands down. They sound different, so try and have a listen to them.

If it was my money, go for the marantz though.

I have Marantz PM6003. Before that I had PM4001 OSE. This one PM4001 OSE is a great amplifier and I simply loved it. But you must know that there is a difference between PM4001 and PM4001 OSE. OSE is much better. So all I can say one or the other you will not make a mistake , they are both MARANTZes .... Both are great !

Marantz PM 4001 OSE was also award winner in this medium price range.

PM 4001 OSE is for me better than PM6003. PM4001 ose is for old school music lovers, and 6003 for some new guys that like "digital" sounds and computers .

Anyway both are good. More than good.

Why PM6003 over PM6004?

Price points are a nats chuff apart and the 6004 is the evolution of the 6003.
