Marantz CD 67 SE problem

My Marantz CD 67 SE which has not seen a lot of use has decided to pack up so I need some techy help. The problem is when a CD is inserted it does not spin up, nothing happens the display just reads disk,

Might be the drive. Try cleaning the laser first.

but worth checking at a service point first.
