hi,

i know this is a well contaversial subject matter, so please dont flame me.

my understanding of electrical theory is that when a mains supply reaches the primary coil of the transformer within the amp, it is converted into airborne EMF (tesla's), which is then picked up by the various secondary coils to give you your 12v, 5v, 24v etc.

As total ac isolation takes place at this point, is it possible for RFI to pass between the coils and influence the sound and behaviour of the output stages, which i imagine are running at around 24v?

If someone can disprove this theory, and explain the benefits from mains cables then i will be glad to take it onboard.

Cheers,

rob.

P.S I went for the gold banana plugs from maplins in the end [:D]

YES.....in exactly the same way as your 50Hz mains. There may be some attenuation / losses due to the much higher frequency but some will stil get through.
