Hello!

I'm looking at buyig some speakers. I love Monitor Audio and really like my S6's, especially the great bass they provide.

For another room i'm looking for some similar (slightly cheaper) speakers that will achieve great bass and have narrowed it down to a number of options:

-Monitor Audio RS1

-Monitor Audio BX2

-Wharfedale 8.4

Could anyone comment which are better? Especailly between the two MA options.

Any additional suggestions would be reat too.

Thanks in advance

Joe

I can only comment on te two MA models. The sound is a little different, the BX2's are boomier, the RX1's are a bit more accurate in the bass and do dig a bit deeper too. The RX1's are -as far as I'm concerned- one of todays Hi-Fi bargains. I'd go as far as to say that sound-per-pound, the best passive speaker you can buy.

Another thing to consider is that the RX1's are gorgeous and the finish is perfectly smooth all over, no vinyl joins at all!

Sorry, just realised you said RS1 not RX1. The differences should still stand out, just not as much. If you can stretch to a pair of used RX1's, you'd be very happy with your purchase!
