Hi,

im looking to buy a new turntable. I'd like one that is at least semi automatic. However, this only seems to be a feature of the cheaper end of the market, e.g. The Denon DP200USB.

Can anyone advise me of a slightly higher spec turntable that offers this feature?

Many thanks

the fact that it's a feature found on the cheap stuff may give you a clue of what is thought of semi auto operation on modern turntables.

You really don't need it.

Thanks for that. However, I do need it, hence my question.

You could consider some of the better Technics linear tracking fully automatic turntables from the 1980s. We have three in this house, two of which were purchased on eBay a little over a year ago.

Dual CS505-2 / CS505-3

I think these are semi-automatic, though I may be wrong.

Thanks ifor. I had started to consider maybe getting something vintage. I will look into that. DO you have any models that might be worth seeking out?

Yes, they were - and decent for their price. I think they were What Hifi award-winners in their class - I bought one on the recommendation.

... two SL-DL1s and an SL-7. The SL-QL1 is good too. The latter two have quartz lock speed control, which is nice to have but not essential.
