looking for a good bluetooth adapter for my marantz m-cr603

I have a google Nexus 7 (2013 model) and i would like to stream music from the tablet to the marantz. Since it doesn't work with wifi, I was thinking about a good bluetooth adapter. Any suggestions?

I use a QED U-Play to connect my Nexus 7 to my Hi-Fi. Works well, sounds good and it's not too pricey.

There's now a U-Play Plus, which is supposed to be an improvement over the regular U-Play, but you'll also have to budget for interconnects with the plus.... The regular version comes with all cabling.

Marantz's own RX 101 bluetooth adaptor? Connects to M-CR603's M-X port in the back, only uses one cable, takes the power from the unit, no fuss.

Thanks for the replies. I already thought about the RX101, but I find the price (150€) a bit out of proportion for a 600€ system. Basically I'm thinking about either wifi or bluetooth. I would like to stream the music files from my PC to my Marantz M-CR603 system, but I really have no idea how to go about this. Any advice would be welcome.

Well that's what the '603 is designed to do, without recourse to bluetooth. You just need to set up a DLNA server on your computer - are you running Windows or Mac?

OK. I was going to say turn on media sharing in Windows Media Player but that can be quite limiting in terms of file formats etc so you would be better off getting a dedicated media server. I use Twonky which is cheap ($20, though there is a free trial) but other free ones are available like XBMC.

Install it, get it to search for your music and let it catalogue it all. Then you can get the 603 to connect to Twonky (they need to be on the same network) and browse all your music from there. I'm not familiar with the apps available for your nexus to control it but having a quick google suggests a few things:

- the official Marantz app isn't very good
- there is a third party one which is much better
- the official Onkyo app reportedly - if somewhat bizarrely - works with the 603.

I haven't got a 603 so cannot advise but perhaps someone else who has one and an android device can assist further.

If it's any use to you, I use Serviio (free) on an XP PC for streaming my music (99% flacs) to my Marantz 610s (and pictures and video to my TV). Very easy to use, very quick.

Once again, thanks for all the great advice. So, basically I just need to buy a Wifi-receiver for my marantz (any suggestions) and install a serverprogram on my pc that will stream my music wirelessy. I assume my pc will have to be on (or in standby mode) to be able to stream? Will the marantz automatically find the server?

Hi - the Marantz doesn't have wifi (only Airplay, which doesn't help with an Android table), but it does have Ethernet. Is the Marantz close enough to your router to plug it in via cable? If so, it will spot the server running on your PC (yes, it does need to be turned on) and hook up to it.

If you're not close enough for a wired connection you can add a wireless extender for about £20 or use Ethernet over mains with something like Homeplugs.

It will have to be a wireless extender. Can you recommend a good device to store all my music files; one that can also stream the files to my marantz wirelessly (basically another server, I guess)? I don't feel like keeping my pc running 24/7.

You'll be needing a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device in that case, something like this, or this * (but you need to add hard drives to this one) and then plug the NAS into a wireless router.
