Linn Sneaky vs Squeezebox - Worth it?

Hello.

I currently have a pair of Tannoy Revolution Signature DC6Ts and a Rega Brio-R amp. I want to add a streamer, to play high res files from my Synology NAS.

When it comes to streamers am I likely to hear much difference between a Linn Sneaky Music DS over a Pioneer N50 or even a Squeezebox Touch? How important is the streamer itself as a source? Is it the DAC that makes the difference? In which case should I choose the streamer for its 'interface' and ease of use and plan to add an external DAC like the Rega DAC?

I'm new to the concept of streaming music to my HiFi and would be grateful for any thoughts or experiences.

Many thanks,

CF

IMO The Sneaky is a good step up from the SBT, and I suspect better than the Pioneer, but haven't heard it.

Here is a streamer league table from a magazine, that I posted some time back:

The SBT is excellent and would cost much, much more if a hifi company made it. It's what I would go for.

Ironically as Logitech have give the SBT the Spanish archer the price now seems to be going up with few bargains to be had unless you want to consider a certain online auction site
