I have a Sony STR DA 2400ES and I am thinking of upgrading my speakers to Dali Lektor 2s on custom design RS 300 stands. The only problem I have is that no one near me has a Sony in stock so I cannot try the speakers. I have heard they are on the bright side and I wondered if they would be too bright for the Sony.

I am looking at spending about £350 to £400 all in and I listen to all sorts from Pentangle to Metallica although most of my music is on the heavy side.

Any advice or alternative suggestions welcome, I have a pair of old eltax symphony floorstanders at the moment, cabling is carnival silver screen. Thanks in advance,

Mike.

You should have no trouble with the Lektors and they are not bright. Even on the end of the Sony I would be surprised if they sounded birght. They are mainly punchy and full and at the money superb value. If you buy from a reputable dealer you should be able to swap them out should they not work in your room.

Many thanks for the reply, it appears though I have a change of plan. The wife has been looking at speakers !! and she likes the Acoustic energy aegis neo 3 floorstanders she informed me yesterday. They seen to have reasonable reviews and are a decent price from superfi so it looks like we might be getting a pair of those.
