Lektor 1 or 2

Hi, I also posted a question about this last week. I was a bit confused about the review in WHF and the term 'over-ripe' when placed next to a wall.

According to Dali's website the L1's and L2's were primarily designed to be shelf or wall mounted, which suggests that they should be ok against a wall.

I have emailed Dali and when I get a reply I will let you know. However, the best way to find out for sure is to audition a pair which is what I intend to do over the next couple of weeks.

At last here is the reply from Dali:

Dear Tony,

Thank you for your e-mail.

The LEKTOR 2s are designed for wall mounting.
The performance from the speakers will vary from room to room depending on the
acoustical properties of the room. I do not know under which conditions
WHAT HI-FI tested the speakers under, so it is very difficult for
me to comment on their judgement of the speakers.

It will also be possible to stand mount the
LEKTOR 2s, but expect, that the bass output will be slightly reduced in
comparison with on-wall positioning. My recommendation is, that you audition the
speaker in the nearest authorized DALI dealer. There you will most likely also
have the opportunity to hear the speakers on-wall and on a stand (or
longer from the wall).

Well no surprises there!! Best to audition but it does sound like they should be ok against a wall.
