Dropped them an email today regarding the recent goings on & received this back from Lee:

"We have supplied the magazines with a press statement which they have all promised to reproduce. In fact Mallory and I are still part of the team, we just changed partners so to speak. The business is still going the same way it was before. It's a shame we had to pull out of Bristol at the last minute because it would have been a good place to talk to people face to face. Sadly the legal process was not completed in time.

The company has retained all the rights to the IP, design rights, the original company name (most unusual) web domains etc.

I should also make it clear that we are still honouring warranties as normal though thankfully most of our problems in that department centre around the CD drives.....the only bit we don't make!

I will try to remember and copy you in on the press statement tomorrow. I aim to stick it on the NEWS section of the website.

I believe they are working with nearby company (and long time supplier of their circuit boards) Davlec Ltd. in Welshpool, a few minutes away on the same trading estate.

Thanks for the response Chebby. I'd heard the same. I was just wondering if anyone had seen the press statement promised by Lee in the quote above?

I'd like to see them declare their resurrection officially (and Easter seems an appropriate time for that sort of thing!). They make brilliant products at very reasonable prices and I hope they succeed.

Dear friend,

Leema’s recent history has been somewhat difficult and we thank you for your patience. It has not been possible for us to openly discuss the situation which we trust you will understand. Following a complete company restructure we have now parted from our previous directors and investors and have partnered with our key manufacturer, Davlec Ltd along with their component supplier Electronics Direct Ltd.
This will enable us to have a significantly leaner top management and enable the Leema brand to move forward in a significant and positive manner which has not been historically possible.

Our existing order book is currently being manufactured and we expect to start delivering within a short space of time. Whilst the Leema brand will continue essentially without alteration there will need to be some changes in the future of which we will keep you informed. We already have new product launches planned, some of these long awaited.

We thank you Enormously for your ongoing loyal support and patience and can promise some significant improvements in the near future.

I couldn't disagree more. Their DAC is amazing and needs to stay in the range. The What HiFi review doesn't tally with my experience of it at all. The cables are tweaked Chord Company cables so they are brilliant too.

Perpendicular views, it is better to do something really good, than to tamper with all kinds of hardware.
