LCD or LED

As I am looking for a new tv before I buy another plasma can someone explain the difference between LCD and LED, advantages of the new LED etc, do you get better blacks ? Do you still get backlight bleed ? Thank you.

LED IS LCD, the only difference is the backlighting, LED uses LEDs (guh) for the backlighting, LCD TVs don't. That apparently makes the backlight on LED displays more controllable but they're just as likely to suffer from backlight bleed as a normal LCD TV, from what I can tell.

After next year by the looks of things you're only choice is going to be led or lcd .only a few will be able to afford oled..

Even if they can afford it I think the biggest screen size is 55inch.£7000 for 55inch I think not ,and as for the 4k farce.........
