Krell Kid vs Wadia iTransport

Can anyone tell me how significant the different is between 1,300 pound Krell Kid and the 350 pound Wadia iTrasport? If money is not the major issue is it worth going for the Krell?

gizmodo review the krell at $1200 so ou might be better off buying it from the US, if money's no object.

But really, is it worth it? If you don't have it at the highest lossless bitrate?

I'd go for the Wadia and buy a shed load more CDs to listen to with the difference.

Well they're different things aren't they? Isn't the Wadia just a DAC-dock (basically) and the Krell a dock plus pre-amp?

Thats true, guess i was kind of thinking that folks would already have an amp.

So unless you have a power amp or active speakers, the Krell's a big (and expensive) paradigm shift. The Wadia is almost affordable, and I like the idea - add an iPod and you have one of the funkiest music servers around, I think.
