Confused! Long story short. Sold my CM8, wasn’t happy with them. Decided to go back bookshelves. There are 2 options on ebay. BW805N for £1300 inc stands and a pair of Kef R3 for £700 no stands. Can’t audition for obvious reasons. What shall I choose? Not looking for any other brands. My amp is Leema Tucana ii.
Thanks in advance

No where near enough information, as everyone will probably tell you if you cannot audition then avoid.
I can’t afford brand new so auditioning might be tricky. I have always had BW speakers, also had PMC 21 for a short period. Kef keeps haunting me. Had a listen to R3 a long time ago when I bought CM5 from hifix. In comparison R3 sounded wider, couldn’t afford them then. Just wanted feedback if anyone had chance to compare the speakers in question.

I’d choose the KEF because I like KEFs, and have had LS50 at home. The R3 was well received, and £700 is about right now the Meta version is out. They tend to like a bit of space though, so don’t imagine you can just plonk them on a shelf.

They also measure more neutrally than B&W, but if you want a more exciting/artificial (delete to taste!) then the Worthing contenders might be to your taste. Personally, I couldn’t live with that tweeter stuck on top!

Thanks for your suggestion. I don’t come here often but good to see all dedicated old faces still providing services to novice like myself.
