I'd too appreciate comments about the KEF's. What are they like compared against the new KHT3005.2se's and will they be featuring in WHFSV because I can't find them in the Buyers Guide.

I'm also very interested in this KHT 5005 series.
I'm considering pairing one of these with an Onkyo TX-SR875 and my Pioneer PDP436SXE.

Given that I can get the 5005 series for about the same price as the newer 3005SE series, I'm not sure which is better.

I bought the latest What HiFi, but there was no review in the buyers guide section for the 5005 at all.

Given that 5005 was one series higher, but the 3005SE is one generation newer, which one is better.

Style wise they both look great, and the 5005 might fit better in looks with the plasma, however overall I can't separate them.

Regards,
Spencer

The KHT5005.2 has yet to be reviewed in WHF S&V, but you can find plenty of press elsewhere, including Stuff, T3, Home Cinema Choice, What Home Cinema and Esquire. A little hunting on your part should bring you to a review pretty quickly.

Thought this press release may help those who are struggling to find any coverage of the 5005.2 in the UK...

KEF KHT5005.2W SYSTEM IS CES INNOVATIONS 2008 DESIGN AND ENGINEERING AWARD HONOREE

5.1

Home Theater System with Wireless Rear Surround Speakers is Honoree of Home Theater Speakers Category for 2008 CES Innovations Awards

MARLBORO, NJ - November 13, 2007 - KEF, renowned British manufacturer of audiophile-quality speakers and world-class home theater speakers, adds yet another award to its roster of accolades with the 2008 CES Innovations Awards.

KEF received top honors today in the "Home Theater Speakers" category for their KHT5005.2W 5.1 Home Theater System with Wireless Rear Surround speakers as the Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering Award Honoree.

In order to achieve robust audiophile-grade sound, KEF has developed a leading-edge 2.4GHz wireless transmission technology that uses the most advanced error-protection and sophisticated adaptive frequency-hopping to ensure an interference-free signal.

This proprietary technology is pre-emptive and will change channels automatically to a pre-negotiated frequency (within the best available band) before any errors start to occur. CD-quality audio won't be affected by microwave ovens, cordless phones, or LAN routers.

Homeowners have the flexibility of placing their rear speakers anywhere they want as well as moving them to different locations if desired.

The KHT wireless system is reviewed in the February issue of Gramophone, on sale today.

It's the one with Puccini smokin' a ciggie on the front cover!
