Just bought a new amp at 110 punds

I've just finished refurbishment of my new little amp - it's nearly 10 years old, and I got it at 110 punds.

I've changed the output stage relay, resoldered print, sanded and oiled the front

The sound?

Mighty heaven this little beaty can bring my IPL speakers alive, in a very convincing way. The low end is just so controlled and smooth, even the specs is far lower than my old XTZ Class A100D3 amp. The old XTZ was unable to control the low end - it sounded kind of muddy, and soundstage was general lifeless.

This little amp is rated 65 watt@4 ohm, and my old amp had 120 watt@4ohm, and the XTZ did also claim to deliver 62 amp.

All I can say - don't belive the specs (it's just numbers on a paper).

But I guess Holfi is kind of rare in the UK?

IPL Acoustics. They make high quality speaker kits. Transmission line.

That looks like a ribbon tweeter and there very, very good.

It's a DIY kit from IPL Acoustics - very easy to build, and sound is like something 3-4 times more expensive

It's a transmission line speaker - very smooth and deep bass.
