I read with interest the review of streamers from Apple, D-Link, Digital Stream, LG, Netgear, Sony, WD and Xtreamer.

At the end of the article it says "How to stream..." "FREE ON-DEMAND CONTENT. All the streamers tested here offer varying degrees of free content. Some use apps to give access to services such as YouTube, Dailymotions, BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD and Demand 5"

I'm particularly looking for a devise with apps for ITV Player and 4oD but none of the test reviews mention these specifically.

Any ideas which ones might have these apps?

I don't know of any but I do know that you can use software such as NevermissTV on a home cinema PC e.g. Acer Revo or similarly low powered PC. I also have iPlayer running on XBMC and it works well.

You may find that you get a better response if you post your question in the correct area of the site. This section is for feedback. I would suggest the home cinema forum. Hopefully a mod will move it for you. In the meantime I would suggest searching the forum for the usual suspects e.g. AC Ryan, Boxee, popcornhour etc. as well as general terms.

Thanks for the advice. I'll post in home cinema and see what response I get.

Would the What Hi-Fi? person who carried out the tests please repsond? Thanks.

Andrew, the review team have not responded.

Indeed, but given that a significant part of the review team is in Berlin at IFA, and I am in Vienna at a Pro-ject event, you're unlikely to get a response this side of the weekend, for which apologies.

Hi SteveLo,

Unfortunately, none of the streamers in the group test offers access to 4oD or ITV Player - hence the term "such as"! Although firmware updates can make pretty much anything happen....

If you want those services specifically right now, though, you can get them on the Sony PS3. And before you say it, yes, we're baffled too as to why you can get them on the PS3 and not on Sony's streaming box.

Sorry for the slight vagueness in the copy.
