iTunes picks up NAS but not my music

Hi can anyone help I have a HPmediasmart EX490 that has all my music on it and ITunes latest version on my windows 7 pc

Now iTunes can see my NAS but will not load the music from it

I have had this problem for a while it used to work with iTunes without a hitch but this startled about 4 generations of iTunes ago

Its driving me mad can anyone help

Fix the ip address of your NAS if you haven't already, it will be in the NAS config somewhere, then power everything down and then backup again.

If that doesnt work then quit iTunes and hold down ALT when launching it again - that will give you the option to choose which library you want to open with, and you can navigate to your iTunes library file on your NAS - if nothing else then if iTunes isn't happy it should give you an actual error message which might point to the problem.

Whilst the songs are on the NAS and iTunes can see it, don't you still have to add the songs to your library?
