How To Issue connecting sub-woofer to Yamaha surround

Hi,
I recently bought a surround amplifier from Ebay. Good price , came with 4 speakers and a sub woofer , all are Yamaha. The set up came with no speaker leads. No problem for me, I thought , I have been connecting speakers many times during my 80 years, however, the issue is with connecting the sub woofer. It must be passive as there is no power input jack. All the speakers including the sub-woofer have spring clip connectors, which match the connectors at the amp side , except the woofer. This has an RCA audio jack. Am I missing something or is there actually a cable available which has 1 single normal audio jack which plugs in to the amplifier at one end and standard speaker wire at the other? I have always wanted a sub-woofer so I hope this issue can be solved.
Thanks
Johnno

State the model number Johnno and you'll get your answers 👍
But yes, some (usually lower cost) systems use RCA for speaker connection.

If you've got a multimeter - set to resistance, put it across that sub RCA.
I'm guessing it will show 8 ohm or less, indicating that it's a direct connection to the speaker.

Speaker is a Yamaha NX-C130 , the amp is an HTR 5630
Thanks for the reply. Just to be clear , the woofer has spring connectors , it's the amp that has the RCA connector

Hi, your HTR 5630 amp has RCA signal output to be connected to input RCA connector as well on your NX-C130 subwoofer. So it is signal output from the amp. Your Subwoofer has automatic on/of switching, when signal is detected. When needed Yamaha has proper manuals on their web. I checked manual for HTR 5630. I wish you to make proper setup and enjoy the Home Cinema! 😉

Thanks for that Fandango Andy , you all worked it out before me. The C130 is a Centre speaker. I was so blinkered on what I thought was a sub-woofer , looking at the reference manual for it describes it as a Centre speaker. The sub-woofer in the same set up is obviously bigger and runs off an RCA to RCA cable. I will buy one that has an RCA connection. Looks like Gray has sent a list of speakers for me to look at?

Looks like these are some system set ups rather than just sub woofers. I will look for a matching sub woofer for my HTR-5630 ....thanks again

Must've been someone else Johnno as I haven't sent you anything 🤔
As it happens though, I've got a brand new (opened just to test and confirm it to be ok) subwoofer and a high quality 3 metre RCA interconnection cable, which you could have for half the retail prices.
Trouble is, our facility for privately messaging each other, has been taken away - and we are not allowed to sell on here ☹️
Never mind.

OK. I can't quite follow the threads the way they appear... my mistake. Looked at some sub-woofers on Ebay and Facebook Market Place .... they are more expensive than I paid for a functional surround amp with all the other speakers. thanks again Gray
