Is there any difference between NAim Nait 5i and mk2 version ?

I'm trying to compare the both 5i: the older one and the new one ( 2 years ).

The new one has a mini jack in front panel and something else.

But, My question is: any difference in sound quality ? ANy difference in Watts ?

Improved heatsink, improved thermal coupling of the power output transistors, improvements to the earthing and a 3.5mm input on the front.

Later italic versions had a minor input relabel where 'tape' was changed to HDD (although you could still connect a tape deck).

No idea. I only had the italic version and never heard the original 5i. Sorry.

I've heard the 'i' and the later 'i', although not together and both were on PMC speakers. If there is a difference then it's very subtle.
