Is HDMI 1.3a the final specification for hdmi?

is HDMI 1.3a the final specification for hdmi? - as i now have two av amps with hdmi switching that can't handle the ps3 or tosh hd ep 35 - but what i don't understand is my sony40w2000 which is as old as both amps can - is there different HDMI setting as standards for tvs???????? If i now buy my third av amp in 2 years is this going to be obselete if the standard changes again?

clare do you know if i change to standard speed cables instead of the high speed cables i am running will that solve the problem of my older hdmi switching amps not being able to pass a 1.3 hdmi signal - since these cable can't transmit it?
