Ipod Touch is great however went on holiday came back bought some tunes from itunes music store and my ipod does not appear in my itunes. This has only just started doing this and was working perfectly before!! Is there a setting needing checked or is there something wrong?? It does not even appear in device manager.

Most frustrating!! PLEASE HELP as i know nothing about this

THANK YOU

Thaks for the hasty reply. When i connect my touch to pc it does not charge, show up in device manager or anything!!

I have tried the 5 rs no result!!!

My brother brought up his ipod to put music off my pc onto his touch. Will that have affected something??

The most frustrating thing is i cant restore the touch as it does not appear in my itunes!! It does nothing. I have even tried a new usb and checked the pc usb is working as well. It works with the printer fine!!

I am seriously considering calling the apple helpline

Any further help please!!??

Hm, struggling to offer anything constructive here - have you upgraded to iTunes 8? Do you have any other iPod cables you could try (its not charging suggests there may be an issue there)? Are all the apple services (iTunesHelper, iPodService etc) running?

If it is possible, take a trip to your local Apple store, (if there is one near you) and book an appointment with one of the tec know guys. I am luckly as there is an Apple store in Southampton. Had a problem with my itouch, as I was unable to go on line at home, booked an appointment with said expert, knew his stuff and bingo all sorted. The staff in the store could not do enough to help, which makes a welcome change, Apple stores do put the customer first, if you are unable to get to a store just do what John says.

I also have had a problem with itunes not recognizing my ipod......it turned out to be the cable that connects it! i know a few people who have had this....just a thought!

Same here. My ipod 80gb stopped appearing on the computer which just made the 'ding dong' noise when connecting to a usb port, but nothing else. Problem solved by using the cable that had come with my nano.

Hi again,

Its not the cable as i was using an old one. So went and got the new cable from the box and tried it- still nothing. Called the helpline and they said it could be a problem with the hardware tried a couple of things but still nothing. Only thing left to try is plugging into a different pc and see what happens??!!
