Impending Awards issue excitement!

Just two days to go - and to show just how close to the wire these things go, we've only just had the Awards issues into the office. And a chunky monkey it is, too...

Copies of the mag should be winging their way to subscribers and retailers right now, all ready for Thursday.

Schedules permitting (we're already well into the December issue - including exciting news of exclusive reviews of the new £350 Toshiba Ep35 HD DVD player and £400 Sharp Blu-ray player) we'll be here in force to discuss the winners from then.

I work in the subs dept. It should take around 2 weeks for your Awards issue copies to reach Australia - so expect it to reach you around Tuesday 30th October.

Nope. it's included in your subscriptions package - 13 issues a year, what a bargain!

You should have had your copy this morning, though with the postal services as they are....

Sigh, I probably won't get my hands on this issue in my part of the world for at least another 3 weeks. In the meantime, does the pic of the Rega CD player on the cover indicate that the Apollo might have knocked off the Cyrus CD6s?

Also, would anybody be kind enough to share the winners of the Speaker Cable and Analogue Interconnects categories?

The suspense is killing me.

Yes, well-spotted re the cover: the latest Rega Apollo is indeed our CD player Product of the Year .

As for speaker cables - QED Silver Anniversary XT hangs on as best all-rounder for most budgets - while for stereo interconnects, the revamped Atlas Equator takes the best buy.

Two Products of the year for Rega, in fact (they pick up the top turntable Award, too) - superb stuff.

Your Cyrus is still an excellent player, but the Apollo offers that bit extra all-round appeal. There are new Cyrus models on the way, FYI, so that should be a good battle to look forward to!

2 weeks to Australia ??? well I live in Scotland (Shotts) and I bet you get your copy quicker than I do, I have been a subscriber for about a year now and never get my magazine untill ages after it's in the shops.!

I've been getting post every day (even got one this morning that was posted from Plymouth on Friday afternoon) but still no mag - its getting worse from month to month
