Looking at receivers i was mind boggled with the awards but i favoured the denon as i was impressed with the review and had what similar ones had onkyo etc. The only decision left was the fact that it was a better looking receiver until i see the review of the yamaha 863 which looks impressive i must say bit more exspensive but is it worth it over the denon 1909 (will have a listen to both on purchase. Like the fact the yammy has a learning romote< 3hdmis over 2 on the cheaper yammy model. The fact it has no radio tuner which leads me to the fact more money has been spent inside its box maybe on the technical side.

Anybody got this 863 yamaha and how does it perform? And for £529 online surely its a steal? CheersDaz

The 863 is definitely worth its (slight) premium over the Denon - remember, the yamaha originally cost £800, so that's the level of performance you're getting for the money.
