this is somthing that's been bothering me for a wile now if money was not a problem ( by that i mean no limit on haw much to spend ) what sistem whould you pals at what hi-fi put togheter in order to get the best possible sound please humor me anybody's answer is welcome thanks.

If money was really no object, my biggest decisions wouldnt really be to do with the partcular brand of kit I would buy, but more to do with the actual solution I would implement for ease of use - eg multiroom setups with hidden speakers, wall mounted control panels, hard drive storage systems etc etc.

One I had designed this I could then start to think about the kit that would drive it.

ok what if i was to say limit your self to a cd player a amp or a pre amp and hawmany power amps as u want speakers and cables just remember sound is the goal here

hiden speakers and all that only make for alonger path from source to speakers just wanna keep it simple help please

ok u guys just missed the point completely what is the best sounding sistem that can be put togheter ?

Ok, to the chase then!

i'd buy a Primare i30 CD player, the pre amp of the same series and ofcourse the matching Power amp. Then a pair of speakers that sound the world and look smart. Like Dynaudio Confidence, Focal Electra's or maybe Kef Reference. I'd be soooo happy!

Hope this answers your question!

Nottingham Analogue Dais turn tables, Musical fidelity kW Phono Stage, Burmester CD Transport 969 & D/A Converter 970 SRC, Mark Levinson No. 380 s Pre / BAT VK 150 SE mono block x 2, Neat Acoustic MF9 speakers, Cardas Gold reference interconnect and speakers cables.

One tries one's little best.

Must be a result of having watched too many Bonds, and having recently spent a weekend at a hotel on Poole Harbour gazing longingly across the water at the Sunseeker factory!

Andrew, you really need a holiday mate.....try Thailand, nice for shoping and relaxing we even have What Hifi mags (in Thai though!) for you to browse while getting a nice massage from lovely ladies.

Not too sure that Thai What Hi-Fi? is one of ours - is it still using the ancient logo...?

After reading thousands of reviews for a decade like the proper geek that I am, this is the ultimate system I would personally chose for my dream home:

AVI Lab Series CD player + AVI Lab Series Pre/Power Amp + AVI Trio Loudspeakers... (7,750 quid)...

Well, you cannot stop a man from dreaming... 🙂

Razz
Razz....perfect for my 2nd system! he he he
And what would your 1st system be Thaiman? 🙂

The system I've just bought isn't quite conforming to the "money no object" line, but as I'm about to recieve a large settlement from NME for a libel case against them, happily I have got several thousands of pounds I can spend.

Anyhow, I've opted for the Primare I30 amp with it's sister CD player, the CD31. These are paired with a couple of Monitor Audio GS10s. With the accompanying stands, this rounds out at a shade over £4000.

Yes, I could have spent more, but I'm also going the whole hog (well, several thousands of pounds worth of "hog" at least) on a decent home cinema set-up as well, but I'll just have to wait for the final cheque for that one...

So, not quite fitting the request, but hopefully of some use.
