Hi all,

Why do we need all the video/picture processing in the receivers if we have great TV's (kuros) and excellent sources ?

Isn't this a waste of money on unneccesary stuff ?

Are there going to be any receivers that will extract the HD sound etc and give us a better music receiver for the same money as say an Onkyo 875 ?

Well, to quote your example, it's because the scaler in the 875 is much better than most scalers in the rest of our equipment. Not all of us can afford Pioneer TVs as well as everything else required!

My 875 has improved the picture quality on my sony 40w2000 no end from sd broadcast material, so for me it wasnt a waste of money! and im sure there are many others in the same boat.
