Idea for a feature

Hi - I have an idea for a potential future feature that I'm sure a lot of people would find interesting (or maybe it's just me 🙂 ) - manufacturer upgrade options and whether they represent good performance gains and good value for money. Naim and Cyrus are both big players in this space with power supply upgrades and factory modification to higher spec in the case of Cyrus. MF also have their own custom upgrade paths for their components, and I'm sure there are plenty of other manufacturers with options too.

I guess the key thing would be whether the cost of the base component plus the upgrade is equal in performance terms to whether you spent that full amount of money on a single more expensive component in the first place (e.g. is c. £5k worth of Naim DAC + XPS power supply as good (or better even) than a £5k DAC "off the shelf")?
