I need to use a 3 metre set of phono cables. Is this too long?

Just for a few months I will have to use a new turntable (and phono pre-amp) some 3 metres away from the amplifier.

The phono pre-amp will boost the signal to normal 'line' levels and that is where the 3 metre RCA phono lead will be. (Between Rega Fono-Mini and amplifier)

I was thinking of ordering a 3 metre length of Gotham GAC-1 cables for this job. (RF screened and flexible and unobtrusive and cheap!)

Do you envisage any noticeable signal degradation as a result of using a longer length of cable like this?

Thanks

3m should be fine...I certainly wouldn't advise cables that long between TT and phono-amp, but the way you are doing it should be fine.

I've ran a 10m set of phonos before without issue...

For longer runs, balanced phono cables work best but under 10 metres I doubt there would be much interference/signal degradation.
