So basically um I would like to 2 B&W floorstanding speakers to my setup and go with either a 5.1 setup or a 7.1 setup. I would like the floorstanders to add more depth to my music because I figure that’s where I am currently lacking. My left and right I have decided are my weakest link currently.

So fire away with options and remember I like a bargain…

Thanks

If you have the space do it once and get 7.1 .

And I would like a new subwoofer but haven’t a clue about subwoofers either, something good with music especially.
If you haven't got a clue on them, then it's best to find a good local retailer who can install it for you. It's better to pay a bit more and have it working great, than save a few pounds and be dissatisfied with the performance. REL for music, SVS for films.

Thanks for this.

My current setup now:
Some personal bias here, I can see from your photos, you like a clean slim line look, go for the MA Silver 200 series, nice glossy black piano, relocate the B&W as rear.
If you want Atmos for 7-1 setup, just add Polk Audio Signature Elite ES10, I think they do them in black.

Check PT clearance....Ooooh nearly new Dali Oberon 5's £200 less than the retail price these look promising.

What about this sub with the Monitor Audio Silver 200 floorstanders?

Would that be better than what I have got? Thanks

Am I right, your subwoofer is B&W?
The 12"" MA SWs will give you a deeper bass, sound quality wise I cannot comment because I'm not familiar with the B&Ws.

I can only speculate your room size, I think a 12" woofer might be over powering. I have 9" Dali e-9F's (also come 12") they work well with my MA Silver 200 and more than loud enough for the lounge.

Nearly new MA SW is £449 with membership.

Just setup my current system in 2.1 and repositioned my setup so it’s central now. I will see how I go with this first, I am using stereo button is that right? Thanks
Make sure the Sub is ON? In settings on the Amp,also the speaker settings on the Amp like the distance are set correctly .Does the Sub have a gain button on it or on the Amp check that has well.before you spalsh the cash .

Make sure you get them from somewhere that has a return policy if your not going to trial them first. you started by saying you wanted B&W Speakers ?
I did indeed, but now I just want a 2.1 setup so it opens the door to more possibilities for sure. I now don’t mind if they are not B&W or not. Cheers.

Yes, it is a B&W PV1 sub.

Is there an option to actually do some auditioning? We can suggest all varieties of speaker, but you already seem set on B&W floorstanders, so how sure are you?

What would you say to someone asking the same question?
Now with me wanting a 2.1 setup I am open to all possibilities brand wise, I am prepared to be patient to get the right ones at the right price too.

Yep, the sub is on. I think I will have to do another setup of the speakers for just 2.1 or will stereo be sufficient?
