I can taste it from here

Good grief. But the question is, were they originally Sherry barrels? I mean, I like a sweeter sound...

JVC make speakers whose drivers have been soaked in Sake, too. Japanese speaker engineers mix a good hi-fi cocktail!

I can't possibly imagine how that came about...

Have you ever heard it? Does it sound a bit, well, wooden? Does the midrange bark at you?

We have heard some wooden-cone speakers that sound tree-mendous - JVC won a five-star review for one of the first microsystems it produced with such speakers - but others we'd suggest are best leafed alone, such as this two-star pair

Nice looking little boxes though. Just the thing to spruce up a drab living room.

basshound:And I can smell the BS from here..... This could take the place of the cable debates 🙂

Another helpful post...

I would like to audition them, to be fir, I do have a large collection of evergreens.

But there were none available at my local branch.

(I'll get my coat)

P.S. Clare easily wins so far with "tree-mendous" *groans*

Ash ould think that maple the wool over some peoples eyes, but I doubt they would receive tu malt yew us applause in many households. Life's a birch for a pioneer speaker salesman perhaps.

This is great stuff, guys. I'm really picking up some wood vibrations from this thread.

They look easy to accomodate, as they're not very Larch.

But do they possess the Holly trinity of punch, poise & pace?

Shoot, they're nothing new, bud - they've been around for ages, oaky?

All you saps who've been barking out bad puns, take a bough - now shall we leaf it at that?
