Humax freeview PVR 9300T pioneer PDP-4280XD picture quality?

I have the Humax plugged into my Pioneer. The internal freeview picture quality from the pioneer is far superior to the Humax. Is there a way to use the Pioneers freeview tuner by bypassing the Humax and still record? I have tried to get better picture quality but there is not as much details in the blacks than there is using the Pioneer internal Freeview. Connections are aerial wall socket to Humax, Humax out via HDMI to input 4 hdmi Pioneer. Anybody any ideas, at the moment I only have, take the Humax back to the retailer I bought from. Any alternatives any other ideas. Please help. Home cinema fan.

There is no way to record onto the Humax from your Pioneers tuner if thats what your asking!
