How to get the best of my Onkyo 506

Hi expert,

The technology is so fast until we are always left behind. Can anybody advice me how do I get the best of my Onk 506. Am I able to enjoy DTS HD or Dolby true HD by purchasing latest BD player which has onboard decoding? How? Now, I cannot afford to upgrade my amp , but I want to make sure that I get the best sound possible. Since I am planning to grab BD player, can anyone recommend any brand irrespective of the price?

Providing your player has full HD audio decoding and multi-channel analogue outputs, then you will hear HD audio via the multi-channel inputs on your amp. Don't forget you'll also have to budget for 3 x phono cables for 5.1 or 4 for 7.1.

You can get details on the specs of the various bluray players HERE, although the new Sony and Panasonic models haven't been added yet.
