How should i connect pm6004 to my tv?

I'm getting a pm6004 and would like to connect to my tv. My tv only has 3.5mm so my choice is photo to 3.5mm or the sales told me I can gt the cyp aud3 dac which is 40 pound and use the optical output from the tv. I would like to know will it make a big difference with the dac? thx

From my own personal experience, yes.

Bought a cheap Maplin DAC for £40 (now £30) hooked up to my previous amp and there was a significant jump in SQ over the DAC in the TV.
