Hi any Nad C700 users out there? if so does your Nad outside casing get hot? I love the sound from the Nad but got pretty worried about how hot the outside was so I have now hooked it up to a pair of fosi v3's it now runs really cool obviously due to the fosi's doing all the work but I think the Nad's amplification sounded a lot better.
I am hoping someone here can confirm that they run hot and then I can remove the fosi's from the system. I should say the C700 is not in a cabinet and is sitting on a slab of marble with all sides clear to the environment

Hi Paul, I used a NAD 320Bee for 18 years, and yes, both sides got worrigly hot, it never proved to be a problem. I did wonder how much electricity was needed to produce this amount of heat. I still have it, it's under the bed.
all the best,
IAN.

the c700 uses HybridDigital UcD Amplifiers and they do get bit warm in use, (well all amps do when pushed) its considered normal for these amps to get warm mix that with a compact form factor with all the other bits and bobs and its likely to feel pretty warm, should just feel like a warm counter top after a dish washer has been on and dried if that makes sense.

The 320Bee mentioned above is nothing like it really and when pushed hard got warm to the touch, I wont say hot as never got to class A temps which you cant place you hand on for any length of time once up to temp.

Take Fosi amps off and use it, if the amp truly gets hot the C700 will shut itself down long before anything really bad happens.
