Im mounting a set of Tannoy f1 speakers at 6 foot apart sitting either side of a chimney breast. Ill be sat about 9 feet away on my sofa.

My living room ceiling is 7.5 feet high.

How high should i mount the speakers for best listening performance?

I was thinking maybe 6.5 feet high with the speakers tilting down slightly.

Ear height of your listening position is best, however a bit higher should be OK I would guess

Not sure of the tilting down bit though

tweeter at ear height ideally. In any event, don't point them downwards (at the floor) especially if its a wooden floor. Irrepsctive of height they should be aimed along axis of the room.

Mmmm Tweeter at ear height would be about 4 feet and that would be about shelf height around the fireplace!

May have to go higher to about 5 feet as 4 is too low.

Missus wants them up near the ceiling so they look neater but im not having that.

Room is carpeted but i still wont tilt them if it spoils the sound.
