How good is a Classe DR-5 preamp?

I purchased a second hand Accuphase A-45, a pure classe A amp, few weeks ago and now I am wondering if my existing Classe DR-5 preamp is good enough to partner my new purchase. Should I keep my DR-5?

I was thinking of getting an second hand Accuphase preamp like Accuphae C-245 or C-2000, but I spent much more than I had expected. If I purchase of one them I might get into financial troubles eventually ...

What would you do?

If the Classe has all the required inputs then I would keep it.

First of all, thanks for your assistance!

Inputs quantity is not an issue at all. DR-5 has plenty of inputs, including a real fully balanced one. My concern is about sound quality. Despite I own the DR-5, I have never listened to it as I sold my amplifier (Luxman L-505u) a month ago and I don't have any realiable power to test the former.

I consulted a skilfull technician who recommened a mod. It would cost about 300 pounds to replace some caps and resistors and re-work the PSU.

Sounds not a bad deal for £300
