My other half has recently purchased one of these digital recorders, actually the unbranded one from Marks and Spencers. Top piece of kit, fairly cheap and very easy to use.

My question is regarding the fan, which has been on constantly for days now, even when the machine is on standby for long periods. Now, I know we're having a bit of warm weather here in the UK at the moment, but is this normal?

I have a tvioinics box and my hard drive has just gone kaputt on it. The fan if I remember rightly should not be on that long after use. On my one it stayed on for about half hour (after a long days use) to cool the unit then it would automatically switch itself off. You should take it back me thinks for a Refund!
